Heidi's Meadow Meanderings

Hello everyone! This is my first time using a website and I am very excited to have it as a recourse to keep you all updated on what is going on in my life and life around me!

For those of you who haven’t heard from me in a while, I have been in the Defined program at Ironwood Christian Camp in southern California for the last 3 years and just graduated that program last month!

To back track a little bit, last summer I was in between my second and third year of Defined; I knew that I was planning to finish the program, but was not sure what to do afterward. I had been considering coming back for another one of Ironwood’s programs or possibly going to veterinary school. Well, God had amazing different plans in store!! About half way through the summer, I was called to a meeting with Mr. Sam(the director of Ironwood) in which I was offered a position working at a camp 4.5 hours from Ironwood up in the mountains of the Sequoia National Forest! I was told that I would be in charge of the kitchen at this camp, and would become resident staff at Ironwood as of June 1st 2026!

Now I’m here!!! Graduated Defined, a resident staff member and currently living at Sequoia Meadow Christian Camp in the mountains! It is so awesome to see how God worked out His perfect plan in my life! Also, it is absolutely gorgeous here in the mountains! I love it, and the job that I’m doing here! So far, a typical day for me looks like cleaning, organizing and doing kitchen projects in the morning and then helping with dinner and more odds and ends in the afternoon. We have had several work teams here over the last month which has been a huge blessing!! Sometimes when work teams are here, I’ll get some help in the kitchen too! We have a big work crew coming this next week to help us, and it is our last scheduled crew before we have our first campers of the season! Please pray that we would diligently prepare throughout these next few weeks!

The Lord has continued to grow me over the last several years, and I am very thankful for that! And He is still growing me; which is really cool! This summer, I have a summer staff girl working under me in the kitchen, and it is a new but amazing opportunity that God has given me to not only grow myself, but also to invest in her! I would appreciate your prayers as I desire to invest into her life!

Alright, that was a big load of information about the last year. But that’s not all! I have another piece of really exciting news! Around last April, God placed an incredible godly man in my life! We dated for just under 11 months and well…….now we’re engaged!!! We are planning to get married December 17th of this year!!

I did not see Sequoia Meadows or a relationship in my immediate future as of the beginning of last year, but I am so incredibly thankful for both of them! God is so good all the time even through the joys and challenges!

Psalm 136:1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.
